Arleen Sorkin, an American actress, screenwriter, presenter, and comedian in retirement, was born on October 14, 1955.

For her role as Calliope Jones on the NBC daytime drama Days of Our Lives and for inspiring and providing the voice for Harley Quinn in Batman: The Animated Series and the countless animated series and computer games that followed, developed by her college classmate Paul Dini, Sorkin is well-known.

She has two boys, Eli and Owen, with her husband, television writer-producer Christopher Lloyd, whom she has been married to since 1995.

As a member of the comic troupe The High-Heeled Ladies with Mary Fulham, Tracey Berg, and Cassandra Danz in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Sorkin started her career in cabaret.

She played the crazy yet endearing Calliope Jones on Days of Our Lives, which was one of her more notable performances. From 1984 until 1990, she performed in this role; she later returned in 1992 and 2001. On February 24, 2006, she performed in the soap opera once again. Beginning on May 5, 2010, she made a brief comeback to Days.
